- A catalyst for growth in the identification and development of students’ pastoral identity.
- A vital element in the discernment of a vocational call to ministry within the Church.
- A way for students to understand collaborative ministry and team work within a parish setting.
- To experience and develop a ministry of presence.
To help prepare the seminarian for his Pastoral Year.
- Theology students will learn the importance of integrating the spirit of the New Evangelization in their ministry.

- THEOLOGICAL REFLECTION FORMATION SEMINAR –
The Art of Theological Reflection
Monday, September 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
- Complete Release of Information form.
- Complete Student Learning Contract - identifying areas of needed personal, pastoral, and professional growth. How these objectives are to be accomplished is to be discussed with your Placement Supervisor.
- Meet with the Director of Field Education to review objectives for growth prior to beginning ministry. [Please contact me directly to schedule an appointment prior to September 19th.]
Visitations are held on Wednesdays
1st Semester:
September 17th to December 3rd
2nd Semester:
January 7th to March 25th
You will then celebrate the Easter Triduum with the Parish Community.
- Four Theological Reflection Reports (two per semester)
- Four Group Theological Reflection Formation Evenings (two per semester)
- Parish Pastoral Team-Supervisor submits a written evaluation to Director of Field Education at the end of the academic year.
- The completed Student Learning Contract and Accountability Form are to be submitted to the Director of Field Education by Thursday, April 9, 2015.
- Theology students are to meet with the Director of Field Education to review the goals and objectives toward the end of each semester.
Year-End Theological Reflection Paper (5-7 pages) is to be submitted by Theology students to indicate how one has integrated The Art of Theological Reflection and developed an integrated pastoral identity.
Mode of Evaluation: Pass or Fail
To receive a Pass Grade the requirements are:
- Four theological reflection papers submitted timely (Late submission is regarded as fail)
- Year-End Theological Reflection Paper
- Completion of Student Learning Contract objectives
- Evaluation from the parish pastoral team-supervisor.
