North American Martyrs: The Jesuits of New France
Between 1642 and 1649 eight Jesuit missionaries were martyred in New France. These North American Martyrs: St Jean de Brebeuf, St Jean de La Lande, St. Antoine Daniel, St. Noel Chabanel, St. Isaac Joques, St. Rene Groupil, St. Charles Garnier and St. Gabriel Lalemant  are the subject of a display in the library prepared by Debra Majer, Archivist for the Diocese of London. The library has several works on the martyrs and the work of the Jesuits in New France including the 71 volume set The Jesuit Relations and Allied Documents (F1030.7 J46 1959) and the 6 volume Biographical Dictionary for the Jesuit Missions (F1030.7 E2713 2001).
