Funeral Announcement: Reverend Dennis J. Wilhelm

Father Dennis Wilhelm died peacefully on November 14, in his 71st year and 30th year of priesthood.

Father Wilhelm was born on July 27, 1947, in Leamington, Ontario.  He entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London in 1981 and was ordained to the priesthood on April 30, 1988, by Bishop John M. Sherlock at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica in London.  He retired on October 28, 2017.

Father Wilhelm ministered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Mount Carmel (1988); St. Michael, Windsor (1988); St. Mary, Woodstock (1988-1989); St. Justin, London (1989-1993); Holy Family, Wallaceburg (1993-2004); St. Joseph, Chatham (2004-2008); and Our Lady of Guadalupe, Windsor (2008-2017).  He served on many diocesan committees and was Chaplain to the Chatham/Kent Police Services.

Visitation:

Saturday, November 18, from 7-9 pm at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Location - 11677 Tecumseh Rd.) with Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:30 pm; Sunday, November 19, from 3-9 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish with parish prayers at 7:30 pm; and Monday, November 20, 10 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish until the Mass of Christian Burial.                    

Mass of Christian Burial:

Monday, November 20, at 11 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.  Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Father Wilhelm, and remember his family members in your prayers.  It is recommended that members of the Society of St. John the Evangelist offer, when possible, three Masses for the repose of his soul.
