What is F.i.R.M.?
Formation in Relational Maturity is a new and evolving part of the academic and formational programs at St. Peter’s Seminary. F.i.R.M. includes a framework of eight (8) modules on various topics such as ministerial leadership, affective maturity, and working with women in ministry. All modules have identified detailed benchmarks for formation and provide faculty, formators, seminarians, and lay students with a rich offering of knowledge and skills to assist with the integration of their human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral growth.
F.i.R.M. is not a program nor simply a series of workshops but rather an assimilation of knowledge, values, and strategies for the purpose of bringing to life a number of subject areas critical to formation. While it does offer the opportunity for conferences, in-house workshops, and written resources, F.i.R.M. is a cultural lens through which to understand relational maturity, its importance for ministerial work, and has been designed as a living document to be continuously embedded into all aspects of formation.
