Prayer for Vocation

A Prayer for Vocations

Our Father in Heaven has called us each…to the place in which He can best satisfy His infinite desire to do us good.
My vocation is the one I love, not because I think it is the best vocation in the Church, but because it is the one God has willed for me.
If I had any evidence that He willed something else for me, I would turn to that On the instant.
Amen.

A Prayer for Priest

No longer will I call you servants, but friends: For you know all things that I have done among you.
I will give you pastors according to my own heart.
And they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine.
Let us pray. Father, for your glory and our salvation, you have appointed your Son Jesus Christ eternal High Priest.
Guide those he has chosen to be ministers of word and sacrament, and help them to be faithful in fulfilling the ministry they have received.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

A Prayer for Stewardship

God, make me a steward of your bounty.
Where there is need, let me see it;
Where there is abundance, let me share it;
Where there is time, let me spend it;
And where there is treasure, let me use it to your glory!
Amen.

Canticle of Mary (The Magnificent)

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.
Amen.
